Walker
Sculpture & Installation
Interpretation
What we use as a baby walker back home is not like the ones I see around in cities, the circular plastic ones in which you place the baby. The design is a simple balanced ‘I’ form with four wheels attached to it. It is made with the lightest kind of wood. The scale in my work is made to look intimidating and far from the daintiness of a baby walker. What I speak of here is not just merely learning how to walk. By walk, I mean the journey of life. The realities and experiences that make a man and help him grow. It symbolises my journey, taking one step each day, building my way up to my dreams. Gaining experiences from various odd jobs, falling and then picking myself up repeatedly.
